In really important news that affects us all on a personal level, Jessica Simpson was reportedly “shocked” when she found out John Mayer was dating Cameron Diaz. A source tells UsWeekly,
“She just freaked.” Simpson, 27, parted ways with Mayer, 29, in May after dating him on and off for seven months, and “she thinks about him all the time,” says the source. “She is so not over him.”
Why is she surprised? He somehow managed to find the only chick in Hollywood with a bigger mouth then her. That’s a feat no mortal man has ever attempted. If anything she should be congratulating him on a job well done.
Amy Winehouse cancels appearances in U.S.

“In a continued effort to support Amy Winehouse’s well being, in addition to the postponement of her U.S. tour, all other U.S. appearances have been cancelled,” says her reps.
This means that Amy will not be performing at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards as originally planned. Not like anyone would have paid one lick of attention to her with Britney’s alleged comeback happening the same night.
Madonna adopting another child from Malawi

Despite her struggles to finalize the adoption of the Malawi boy, David, Madonna is reportedly adopting a baby girl. The little girl named Mercy, will be able to go to Madonna in April of next year.
“Madonna’s over the moon that she’s been told she can take Mercy. She didn’t want another complicated adoption. Mercy is a beautiful baby girl. She’s so joyful and happy and giggles every time she’s picked up. Madonna just loves the way she claps her hands and laughs constantly. She has huge, dancing eyes. Madonna calls her her smiling angel.”
Daddy Lohan will visit Lindsay in rehab

Even though Lindsay is really busy in rehab doing coke and having sex with other druggies, Michael Lohan was recently ok’d to come visit his daughter. In order to visit Lindsay, the media hound Michael had to have Dina lift the restraining order. Sources are saying that his visits will be supervised, just like Lindsay has been all along (haha).
Dina supposedly agreed to Michael visiting because, “Lindsay needs to deal with this and needs closure.”

Next week at the MTV Video Awards Britney Spears is set to perform and has already showed her stuff for the executives at MTV. And even though many people were speculating that Britney and Criss Angel were dating, he was in fact just helping her get her shit together for the show. Maybe she’s going to appear on stage fully dressed for a change. That would definitely be a cool magic trick.
“She’s planning it to be a big comeback performance,” says a Spears insider, who adds that the goal is to make it “shocking.” One early idea that was canned? Performing “My Prerogative” amid a medley of hits, as images of exes Justin Timberlake, 26, and Kevin Federline, 29, and other gossip fodder flashed on a screen behind her. As for a report that she’d do a duet with Timberlake? “Totally, patently false,” says a Timberlake source.
Bridget Moynahan laying down the law

Last week actress Bridget Moynahan gave birth to a happy little baby boy. And Bridget made sure not to have her son take on the father’s last name (football player Tom Brady who is dating model Gisele Bunchen).
And now sources are saying that she doesn’t want him too involved in her son’s life at all, even though he was there when she gave birth.
“Tom was only allowed to come after the baby was born. The woman would not see him, period.” Bridget also didn’t give the baby Brady’s name. But if Tom thinks there’s going to be any reconciliation — or that he’ll be able to see the boy whenever he wants — “Bridget is not giving him any slack on this at all.” As told by Gatecrashers.
