NY Ranger Sean Avery: Lacerated Spleen Injury

Sean Avery, a forward for the NY Rangers, is currently in the hospital after lacerating his spleen during Tuesday’s playoff game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Glen Sather, Rangers president and general manager, said the injury would sideline Avery for the remainder of the season but he should make a complete recovery.
Sometime during the 14 minutes Avery played in Tuesday’s game he acquired the injury but no one is clear on when or how and the pain became unbearable right after the game finished. Word is that his spleen will not be removed but he will be in the hospital recovering for a few days.
Tuesday’s game could have been Avery’s last as a Ranger as he heads into the off-season as a free agent.

“CSI’s” Gary Dourdan:Arrested For Possessing Cocaine, Heroin, and More

Gary Dourdan, best known for his role as Warrick Brown on the show CSI:Crime Scene Investigation, was arrested at 5:12am on Monday morning after being found by police asleep in his car. Dourdan was parked on the wrong side of the road in Palm Springs, California and police found “suspected cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, miscellaneous prescription drugs and paraphernalia.” Geez, couldn’t have just stuck to one or two illegal items my friend?
From the sounds of it, the actor has been a bit explosive in the past smashing paparazzi cameras and doing motorcycle stunts in public and because of that and the new drug issue, I’m sure the CSI folks are glad he’s not renewing his contract with the show.
The show has been good for in some ways though since he won a 2003 NAACP Image Award as Best Supporting Actor and has been nominated in the Best Actor category every year since.
Next time at least make it to a hotel to crash!
Paula Abdul:Mess Up On 4/29 “American Idol” (Video)

Paula Abdul said some bizarre stuff on last night’s American Idol fueling rumors that she’s drunk while judging. (Almost as dangerous as singing karaoke drunk but not quite.) Abdul has fought back before saying she doesn’t drink. Yeah Paula. I believe that just like I believe Courtney Love was sober on Pamela Anderson’s Comedy Central Roast. Check it out on YouTube if you missed it.
Silly Paula Abdul. Coke cups are for soda only! I do like the idea though. Maybe the Coke cup is a free pass to drink whatever at work. I’ll get back to you when I find out how my boss feels about it.
Cher and Tom Cruise Bumped Uglies

Buttless-chap wearing Cher, who’s now 61 by the way, reportedly told Oprah that she and Tom Cruise hooked up back at the start of his career around the time Risky Business made him and tighty whities popular.
In an interview that is set to air on Oprah’s May 8th episode, Cher says, “I was crazy about him. It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him.”
“He was shy,” Cher says. “He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school.”
“He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised he got all her attention.”
OK who says someone feels like a “boob”? Way to really date yourself there Cher.
She also talked about one particularly “long night” in his arms, which invited lots of cheering and whopping from the audience. Did it involve Cher jumping on the couch? I doubt it. I’m sure Oprah has banned those couches from her set and anytime anyone gets close to showing their feelings via bouncing around, they are quickly removed.

Scarlett Johansson: Music Video “Falling Down”

Actress turned singer, Scarlett Johansson, released the music video for her single “Falling Down” today. The song is from the album Anywhere I Lay My Head which will be released in May.
I mean sure she’s fun to look at but this song doesn’t really grab me after three listens. She sounds like she’s talk/singing or something. We’ll see if she turns her attention back to what she’s good at, acting, or continues to use her name to try and sell music.
Roger Clemens:10yr Tryst With Country Singer Mindy McCready

Former Yankees pitcher, Roger Clemens, who has been already dealing with controversy in the form of steroid use is now having to deal with new dirty laundry being aired. Clemens had an affair with country singer Mindy McCready for 10 years which raises eyebrows since she was 15-years-old at the beginning of their tryst.
Supposedly the baseball player and the then teenager met at a karaoke bar in Florida when Clemens was still with the Red Sox. At the time, Clemens was a 28-year-old married father of two but apparently that didn’t stop him from hooking up the rising star.
Who is Mindy McCready you say? She has released 4 country albums and has had more than 10 singles chart on the U.S.Billboard Hot Country Songs like her 1996 hit “Guys Do It All the Time.”
She hasn’t seen her name on that chart since 2002 but has still been in the news thanks to her eventful personal life. Let’s see. We’ve got an arrest in 2004 for trying to illegally buy the prescription drug Oxycontin, being attacked by her boyfriend two days later, some identity theft charges in 2005 followed by a bunch of probation violations and an attempted suicide attempt while preggers, an arrest for battery and resisting arrest after a scuffle with her mom and she was just released from jail December 30, 2007. Whew this chick has been busy!
All that sounds like great material for a few good country songs if you ask me. “I’m a probation violator baby, yeah, get me some Oxycontin. I beat up my mom and went to jail and I sleep with Roger Clemens…..” um what rhymes with Oxycontin? I guess it needs some work but I can see the potential for sure.
Back to the current issue at hand, Clemens is not helping his perjury case since his defense has been that he’s a stand up family man who’s never lied or cheated in his life. Hmm that’s weird. Sex with a minor while married and continuing it for 10 years huh? Interesting.
Clemens lucky lawyer, Rusty Hardin, released a statement to the Daily News on his client’s behalf saying:
“He flatly denies having had any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her…He’s considered her a close family friend…He has never had a sexual relationship with her.”
Good luck in that trial now Clemens!
