“Ugly Betty”: Goodbye to Rebecca Romijn

Rebecca Romijn, who has played the male to female transsexual Alex/Alexis Meade since Season 1, will not be returning for the third season. Romijn doesn’t dig what the writers are doing with her character since the strike and says she will return for small guest appearances only.
She had this to say to the NYPost.com’s Pop Wrap Column:“They made a tremendous amount of changes, especially with the writing staff (during the writer’s strike)…With all the changes, I’m not sure they can take care of my character they way they have been. So I’ll be leaving, back in a recurring capacity, but time for me to leave and find something else.”
Great. I had to watch that episode like 6 times to get what was happening and now she or he is leaving. Dang it!
Jimmy Fallon: To Replace Conan O’Brien

Former SNL cast member, Jimmy Fallon, will be returning to late night starting in 2009 when Conan O’Brien takes Jay Leno’s time slot.
As announced in 2004, Jay Leno will be retiring in 2009 and Conan O’Brien will be moving into the 11:35pm slot leaving the 12:35am slot open.
Fallon has some experience with the delivery of late night shows since he was a co-host on SNL’s “Weekend Update” and also was a guest host filling in for David Letterman in 2003.
The official announcement from NBC is supposedly coming on May 12th but right now they are staying mum.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some good song parodies and perhaps a thrown pencil or two.

Amy Trainwreck I mean Winehouse was apparently drunk as a skunk and took her anger out on some poor souls who happened to be around her. She headbutted one guy and punched another in the face outside of a club in London on Tuesday.
“She was off her face, throwing drinks around and turning over tables. Amy screamed, ‘I am a legend, get these people out. I want to take drugs’.”
Mustapha el Mounmi was left with a swollen and bruised lip after trying to help the wasted singer by hailing a cab.
“I feel so angry. She smashed my face hard. I could not hit back — she’s a woman,” says Mustapha, who describes Amy as a “snarling tigress.” I appreciate your values man but she’s nuts and should be an exception to the not hitting a woman rule.
A representative for the Metropolitan Police tells People.com that they “are investigating an alleged assault on Chalk Farm Road at approximately 3:20 am on April 23. A 38-year-old man [contacted] Kentish Town police station and alleged a 24-year-old woman had assaulted him. No arrests have been made as yet but inquiries continue.”
