Johnny Depp: Guitar Hero For Dan Marino

Actor Johnny Depp reunited with his bandmates of The Kids to rock out for a good cause on Friday night.
Depp played the 90-minute set in Pompano Beach, Florida along with his band which was formed in 1978 when Depp was in high school. Also present were Depp’s girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and their 9-year-old daughter Lily-Rose.
This is the second concert of the type that Depp has played and all of the proceeds go to the Dan Marino Foundation. The former Miami Dolphin’s charity helps to fund programs for special needs children like the Marino Autism Research Institute ( his 17-year-old son Michael has autism.)
John McCain: Picks Sarah Palin As Running Mate

It was announced Friday that Republican John McCain had chosen Sarah Palin as his running mate.
Wow, could he get anyone more completely opposite from himself? Palin, 44, is the Governor for Alaska and is only the second woman ever to appear on a major-party presidential ticket.
Palin has represented Alaska since 2006 and was picked over Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Homeland Security secratary Tom Ridge (also the former governor of Pennsylvania), and Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut.
Palin appeared alongside McCain at a rally in Ohio on Friday afternoon as they begin the run for the White House together.
I’m a little creeped out by the picture. He’s like, “I’m a freakin’ genius! They said I could pick anyone and I said let’s get a hot chick in here. This is gonna be great!”
So will she be good or bad for his campaign?
Jennifer Lopez: Interviewed About Triathlon in Spandex

Jennifer Lopez has really been publicizing the crap out of her upcoming triathlon and the promotion continued on last Monday’s Good Morning America.
She was interviewed along with her trainer in Central Park and made sure she was wearing the tightest spandex outfit she could find.
Sorry if I sound bitter about her. I’m still mad at her for the Michael Phelps comment.
Jessica Alba and Fergie: Hit The Democratic National Convention

They appeared in Denver for the Democratic National Convention on August 28th to root on the Democrats in their run for the White House this November.
Oprah Season Premiere: Olympic “Welcome Home Celebration”

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey will kick start her 23rd season of The Oprah Winfrey Show premiering on September 8th by throwing a “Welcome Home Celebration” for more than 150 Olympic medal athletes.
Athletes like Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin, Dara Torres, Kobe Bryan, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh will be part of the show which is set to tape this Wednesday in Chicago’s Millennium Park.
Fans lined up to get their tickets for the show, which were distributed today beginning at noon, and those without tickets are invited to watch the 10am taping in the park. (The Great Lawn seats 7,000 people.)
The taping will hopefully also help with Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. The city is among four finalists with the other three being Madrid, Spain; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Tokyo, Japan. The official announcement happens October 2, 2009.
New “American Idol” Judge: Makes Paula Abdul Feel Threatened

The folks at American Idol are mixing it up for Season 8 of the hit show by bringing in a new judge, Kara DioGuardi.
DioGuardi, 37, is a Grammy Award nominated songwriter and has written hits for singers like Celine Dion, Pink and Christina Aguilera and many more.
She will join judges Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell and has been described as a “female Simon Cowell.” Abdul has been nervous that her time is nearly up with the reality show and the addition of another female and possible replacement only makes her worry more.
“Paula is trying to put a happy face on this situation, but she feels very threatened that a younger, internationally successful female is joining the cast of judges,” an Idol snitch told the National Enquirer.
“Every season, Paula hears rumors that she’s going to be booted off and replaced by a younger, hipper woman-a new face who could help the show’s sagging ratings…Now her worst nightmare has come true-and Paula is a nervous wreck. This new power shift is sending Paula into a tailspin.”

Michael Phelps: Yep, He Went To Disney World

Michael Phelps was welcomed back to the United States with a bang when he participated in a welcome-back-you’re-awesome parade yesterday at Disney World. (It was officially titled “America’s Homecoming Parade” but I like my name better.)
Phelps rode next to Mickey Mouse on the parade route and then joined Minnie Mouse, who escorted him outside of Cinderella’s Castle.
“I am so happy to celebrate here and see some of the fans who supported me,” said Phelps. “It’s great to feel so much excitement around the sport of swimming in the U.S. and around the world. To top it all off with a parade at Disney World is just incredible.”
Phelps also met with some young swimmers from central Florida who got to ask him about his recent record-breaking experiences.
Is it just me or are his hands huge in the above picture? Whoa!
Ashley Ellerin: Ashton Kutcher’s Ex, DNA Linked To Murderer

Ashley Ellerin, Ashton Kutcher’s ex, was murdered in 2001 in her Hollywood Hills home and up until now, the case had remained unsolved.
DNA evidence, however, has now linked Michael Thomas Gargiulo, an air-conditioning repairman, to the brutal stabbing deaths of three women including Ellerin.
When DNA was collected from a crime scene last spring, it helped link Gargiulo to three separate murders: the death of a high school student in a Chicago suburb where Garguilo lived at the time, Ellerin’s 2001 murder and a 2005 fatal stabbing of a women in Monterey Park.
Garguilo is being held on $1.1 million bail on attempted murder and burglary charges from the April 28 attack in Santa Monica and Garguilo’s lawyer claims his client was not involved in any of the attacks and “thinks the police are out to get him.”
Anthony Salerno, Garguilo’s attorney, went on to say, “If there is any DNA evidence, that would be a surprise to me.”
Looks like a top-notch lawyer there Garguilo.
Ashton Kutcher was dating Ellerin, 22, in 2001 and went to pick her up to go to a party but she didn’t answer and he saw what he thought were red wine stains on the floor when he looked through a back window. Her body was discovered the next day by a friend.
Kutcher was never a suspect in the case and has no comment.
David Duchovny: Rehab for Sex Addiction

David Duchovny aka Agent Fox Mulder on the 90’s sci-fi television series The X-Files has entered rehab to help him with his sex addiction.
“I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction,” the actor says in a statement to People. “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”
Duchovny, 48, has been married to wife Téa Leoni since 1997 and they have two kids together: Madelaine West, 9, and Kyd, 6.
Does this scream porn to anyone else? If it hasn’t already been done that is.
Agent F*** Mulder can’t quit sexing everything in sight on The Sex-Files. I mean, obviously the Sex Files part has been done but the sex addict part might be new.
Not to downplay Duchovny’s problem, get that addiction knocked man!
Hilary Duff’s Dad: In Jail For 10 Days

Hilary Duff’s pop Bob will be spending 10 days behind bars after, get this, arguing with his estranged wife about Hilary’s 21st birthday party.
Mom says Dad should pay $25,000 for the affair while Dad says no way.
Meanwhile, Dad owes Mom $367,537 because he sold stocks without her consent which violated a court order and caused the judge to rule a sentence of 10 days in jail.
Mom says Dad going to jail isn’t what she wanted but when she called him a deadbeat on the stand, it kinda proved otherwise. Susan Duff says the $10,000 in monthly support she receives is “not even enough to pay my own bills” and she hopes to throw a huge bash for younger daughter Hilary which will be as good as Haylie’s in 2006.
$10,000 a month isn’t enough to pay your bills?!?! What the heck are you buying? Forward those 10 G’s my way and I’ll show you how it’s done.
The judge also ordered Bob Duff to fork over $12,500 for party and gift buying purposes. Geez, who’s going to even want to go a crappy $12,500 party?
