‘30 Rock’ star, Elizabeth Banks welcomes a baby boy.
Reportedly, Elizabeth Banks has welcomed her first baby through a gestational surrogate. The ‘30 Rock’ star said on her personal blog, “I have been very fortunate in life both professionally and personally. I have had untold number of opportunities to work with inspiring people, on great projects as an actress, and I have had a fantastic long term relationship of nearly 20 years with my now husband, Max”.
“The one true hurdle I’ve faced in life is that I have a broken belly. After years of trying to get pregnant, exploring the range of fertility treatments, all unsuccessful, our journey led us to gestational surrogacy: we make a ‘baby cake’ and bake it in another woman’s ‘oven,’” she continued.
Reportedly, the surrogate had a baby boy for the couple, who named him Felix.
“From that came two miracles. The first was meeting our carrier and her husband who were truly humbling in their decency and generosity. And the second miracle was the birth of our baby boy, Felix Handelman. Felix means ‘happy’ and ‘lucky’ in Latin. And true to his name, Felix is a very happy baby and a blessing on our life,” the 37-year-old actress wrote. “We have maintained a great deal of privacy throughout this process, and hope to continue to honor Felix’s privacy going forward.”
Then on Wednesday, she confirmed the news on Twitter saying, “What’s greater than overjoyed? Megajoyed? Add humility, love, awe. Sprinkle w cute. Result: my new life as a mom. It’s a boy!”
Banks and Max have been married since 2003 after being college sweethearts.
‘American Idol’ move out of their “haunted” mansion.
Being a contestant on ‘American Idol’ is nerve racking in itself, but this years’ contestants have been staying in a mansion that is reportedly haunted. Recently, the contestants have moved from the mansion into a hotel.
Naima Adedapo told sources, “Even though I’m a very logical person, it was a little disturbing for it to be 2:30 in the morning and the doors blow open and there’s breeze and wind. I picked up this huge chair and put it in front of the door and it still blew open so it was best to leave the house.”
Lauren Alaina also said, “Me and Pia [Toscano] were upstairs and the doors flew open. We were watching a scary movie before that and we were [already] freaked out. Me and Pia decided we were going to sleep downstairs, and James Durbin was making fun of us. [Then] he opens the garage door and supposedly sees a hand fall down.”
Durbin added, “I saw something white that looked like an arm. It freaked me out.”
Adedapo added, “we had leaks”, while Stefano Langone said, “the house was just kind of falling apart.”
Even the contestants who did not witness anything had reservations about staying in the mansion.
Carrie Ann Inaba is engaged.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ judge, Carrie Ann Inaba, agreed to sub for Kelly Ripa on today’s ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ show. Little did she know she was in for a big surprise. Inaba’s boyfriend of two years, Jesse Sloan, showed up with a 2.5 carat diamond ring and popped the question while on the air.
Inaba, 43, denied reports to the audience that she was engaged, but by the end of the show, she was, in fact, engaged. In the last minutes of the show, the lighting crew dimmed the lights and violinists ushered Sloan in. He told Inaba she was beautiful and his inspiration and said, “Will you marry me?”
Inaba’s response was, “Yes! I will marry you!”.
Jay-Z may be in some hot water with the NBA.
According to sources, Jay-Z may be in some hot water with the NBA. The rapper reportedly sat courtside at the game in Newark, NJ, and visited with some of the players after they won the game against the North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday. This is a violation of the rules, but Jay is a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets and is therefore barred from contacting amateur players who have not been chosen for draft pool.
Two members of the team are potential lottery picks for the NBA, so an investigation into Jay’s visit to the locker room has been launched.
Jay is a huge fan of the NBA and has been to lots of the games. He is good friends with William Wesley who is a noted basketball agent. Kentucky guard Darius Miller told sources, “It was crazy. I kind of had to do a double-take. I didn’t expect that at all. I just had to get a picture with him.”
If found to be in violation of the rules, Jay-Z will likely pay a small fine.
Shania Twain’s stalker arrested, again.
Singer Shania Twain was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards in Toronto on Sunday night. Just minutes before the singer accepted her award, police arrested 50 year old Dr. Giovanni Palumbo, who has been accused of stalking the singer.
Palumbo was ordered by the court to stay 500 meters away from Twain. According to police, he told them, “he just wanted to meet her”. The arrest was made without incident and the Ottawa doctor had to appear at Old City Hall the next morning.
According to sources, Palumbo had his license suspended and then re-instated due to time spent in Royal Ottawa Hospital, as a mental health patient. He appeared in court on March 7, but the charges were dropped because Twain was unable to attend.
Reportedly, JP John Jackson told Palumbo to “make no contact with Shania Twain” and as the words were being spoken, Palumbo laughed and shook his head.
Palumbo has been stalking Twain for some time. He has sent the singer flowers and letters in Switzerland and showed up at her Muskoka cottage. And still another time, he showed up wearing a Shania t-shirt and carrying her autobiography.
Twain attended the awards ceremony with her new husband and appeared to be unaware of what was going on. After the award show, she told reporters, “The fans have been amazing. I just love this place. I’m at home here, and this is a really big moment. It feels really genuine in every way.”
Holly Madison is always looking for her soulmate.
Reportedly, the newly single Holly Madison, is looking for love and has told sources, “I would love to meet my soul mate. I’m always kind of keeping my eyes open for somebody.”
Madison is promoting her book, ‘The Showgirl Next Door” right now, as well as appearing in Peepshow Las Vegas. She has told sources that her busy schedule has put a strain on past relationships.
Madison recently split with boyfriend of 10 months, Jack Barakat, who she met through a mutual friend. She went on to say, “The last couple relationships I had were long distance, [and] it’s not like I can make much of an effort to travel and see anybody. The guy had to do all the work, unfortunately.”
Madison is looking for someone who understands how busy she is. “It definitely takes a guy who is secure and not overprotective and doesn’t feel threatened by a successful woman.”
Even though she is always looking for love, Madison admits she has more time to focus on her career when she is single.
‘Teen Mom 2′ star is involved in a brawl and faces charges.
Jenelle Evans, star of ‘Teen Mom 2′, was arrested this week for a brutal brawl. According to sources, Evans claims Brittany Maggard, who pushed her into the fight, sold the footage for $45,000. Evans told sources [of Maggard], “She told me herself, and I got very upset. I cried for two hours.”
The footage shows that the two girls were in a argument, then when Maggard pushed Evans the fists started flying.
Evans was charged with misdemeanor assault, Maggard was charged with probation violation as well as simple assault for having a hand in the altercation. The third party, Truett, was charged with a simple affray, which she is planning to fight.
Evans’ attorney will argue that the fight was set up. She is due in court on April 26 for the brawl.
Lindsay Lohan gets a little good news.
Lindsay Lohan was handed some good news recently. Following months of investigating, the Riverside County D.A. has decided not to prosecute Lohan for assaulting a Betty Ford employee.
“We are not filing any charges in the Lindsay Lohan case due to insufficient evidence,” DA spokesman John Hall told sources.
The actress was under investigation for a fight she had with Dawn Holland while in Betty Ford. Holland is a staff member at the facility. There was an altercation after Lohan returned to the clinic after leaving a bar at 1:03 a.m. on December 12. The altercation was categorized as “hand to hand battery”.
The District Attorney says the investigation was conducted just like any other without special treatment. “It wasn’t looked at any differently than other cases, and we didn’t put any special priority on this,” Hall said. “We also had to re-interview subsequent times several witnesses in the case.”
This is not the end of Lohan’s legal battles. The star will return to court on April 22 for a preliminary hearing for felony grand theft charges. She is accused of stealing a necklace from a store in Venice.
‘Housewives’ star Teresa Giudice involved in a brawl.
‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s’ star Teresa Giudice can’t seem get away from fights, even while on vacation. According to sources, the reality star was in the middle of a bar brawl last month.
While partying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana on February 23, the festivities got a bit out of hand. An insider of the show told sources, “It was late, they were on vacation, and she [Giudice] was just having fun. She opened the champagne and just started spraying it everywhere, and it went all over this woman near her.”
According to the insider, the woman’s husband did not like Giudice’s behavior and got really angry, punching Teresa in the face. Giudice’s husband, Joe, along with two of the other ‘Housewives’ husbands confronted the man.
Then, Joe, while fighting the man, struck someone else with a glass and more people joined in the chaos. Sources say members of Bravo assisted in breaking up the fight. Locals, meanwhile, called the police.
Police arrested eight people and seized their passports until lawyers came in. Injured people made complaints to the officers. One of the victims even suffered a fractured arm. The trip was filmed for the upcoming season, however, the fight will not be aired.
Supermodel, Eva Herzigova welcomes her second child.
According to sources, Czech born supermodel Eva Herzigova and long-term partner Gregorio Marsiaj, welcome a baby boy. Phillip was born on Sunday, March 13 at the Portland Hospital in London.
The couple also have a 3 year old son named George.
Herzigova is world’s most in demand model for runway and photography. She has modeled in Wonderbra ads and has appeared for a campaig for Dolce & Gabbana fragrance with Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell.
Previously, Herzigova was married Tico Torres, Bon Jovi’s drummer.
