Sources say singer Katy Perry is suing the Australian magazine NW due to an article suggesting that she cheated on her new husband Russell Brand.
On the front page story in March, claiming that the 26 year old star had an “intimate relationship” with Benny Blanco who is one of her producers.
The headline on the magazine said, “World exclusive, Katy’s other man”. Perry and Brand tied the knot in October 2010. The couple decided to take legal action approximately a month and a half after the story hit the newstands. The lawsuit against the magazine was filed on April 27.
Perry made a statement saying that she has been “gravely injured in her reputation and feelings and has suffered distress, embarrassment and humiliation.” Should the singer win the case, the publishers of the magazine would have to pay six figures.
Lindsay Lohan may teach acting in homeless shelter.
Reportedly, Lindsay Lohan may be teaching acting classes at a Los Angeles homeless shelter where she has been ordered to do community service.
The Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center has a theater workshop and wants the actress to share her talents with the homeless women.
One of the staff members from the shelter said they were “extremely interested in having Lindsay contribute her talents when she kicks off her 360 hours of community service this week.”
The DIVAS (Dames Investing in Very Authentic Storytelling) is comprised of 15 women that get together for two hours to express themselves through performing. Sources say Lohan is interested in the program.
Lohan was sentenced to120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service due to a violation of her probation related to the theft of a necklace from a jewelry store. She will serve 360 hours at a homeless shelter and 120 hours of janitorial work at the Los Angeles County morgue.
Jason Sudeikis of ‘SNL’ to host MTV Movie Awards.
According to sources, Jason Sudeikis who plays an 80s sportscaster on ‘Saturday Night Live’, will be hosting the MTV Movie Awards which will be held in Los Angeles on June 5.
“I’m sincerely flattered that the folks from the Mostly Teenage Viewers network have invited me to host this year, and I look forward to keeping the streak of flawless and critically lauded movie awards show hosting in 2011 alive,” Sudeikis said.
Sudeikis will complete his show’s 36th season with Justin Timberlake, Tina Fey and Ed Helms. Then he will appear in “Horrible Bosses” this summer along with Charlie Day and Jason Bateman.
“Smart and funny is the new rock and roll for our audience - and that combo pretty much sums up Jason,” MTV president Stephen Friedman said. “He is a smartass and a gentleman who never goes for the easy or obvious joke. Because of that, he is the ideal Movie Awards host, and we are confident with him anchoring the show, our audience is in store for unexpected and crazy moments with Hollywood’s biggest stars and musicians.”
The award show will air June 5 at 9 p.m., but the nominees will be announced May 3.
Mark Wahlberg and Justin Bieber looking at basketball movie.
Sources say Paramount is talking to Mark Wahlberg and Justin Bieber for an upcoming untitled movie about basketball on the streets.
Wahlberg and Bieber are both basketball players. Wahlberg plays full court basketball with friends often. Wahlberg saw Bieber playing in February during a celebrity game put on by NBA All-Star Game weekend. After seeing Bieber show off his skills on the court, Wahlberg pitched the idea to Paramount executives.
According to Deadline, the movie is “The Color of Money” meets “The Karate Kid”.
If Bieber were to take the role, it would mark the 17 year old’s dramatic debut. Wahlberg started out as rapper Marky Mark, then began doing Calvin Klein ads and then took the role in “The Basketball Diaries’ with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Richie Sambora to enter rehab.
According to sources, Richie Sambora of the band Bon Jovi is checking into rehab for sobriety and exhaustion. a source said, “Richie has had a busy year. I think this was a culmination of all things that overloaded his life and finally he realized he needed to take care of himself.”
Sambora spent time in another rehab in 2007at Cirque Lodge in Utah after his divorce from Heather Locklear and seperated from girlfriend, Denise Richards.
Bon Jovi is set to kick off their European tour in June. There is no report as to how his treatment will affect the band, but the band is backing Sambora in his decision to get treatment.
Paris Hilton and Cy Waits accosted at courthouse.
According to sources, Paris Hilton and her boyfriend Cy Waits were walking into the Superior Court building on Wednesday in Van Nuys when they were accosted. The man tried to grab Waits on the back of the neck and was immediately nabbed by bodyguards and handed over to the police. The couple went to testify against Nathan Parada who broke into their house last year with a knife in tow.
The man in question, identified as James Rainford, was arrested in October for trespassing on Hilton’s property and getting into a battle with security at her place.
Rainford told police in October that he was in love with Hilton and her father had given him permission to marry her. He said, “Ricky Hilton said I could marry Paris. He gave me his blessing. I love Paris.” Sources say he had photos of Hilton in his pocket at the time of the arrest.
Bree Olson dumps Charlie Sheen via text message.
Over the weekend, Charlie Sheen told sources that he was dumped via text message by goddess Bree Olson, whose real name is Rachel Oberlin. Friends of the porn star say she moved on around a month ago and has a new boyfriend who is a struggling actress in Los Angeles.
“Her and Charlie obviously weren’t exclusive. Bree has been having her fun outside of Charlie’s mansion for awhile now,” a pal told sources.
“Yeah, I have strong feelings,” she said when asked if she was in love. Now that she has dumped Sheen, we wonder with who.

Kate Hudson announced she is engaged to Matt Bellamy.
During an interview with Matt Lauer on Wednesday, he pointed out the rock on her finger and Hudson laughed and said she was engaged rocker Matt Bellamy of the band Muse.
“It just happened a week ago, I’m so glad you noticed,” she said. “I haven’t really announced it and I felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, and I was just waiting for someone to notice.”
“He’s a beautiful man, and I’m excited,” she continued. No wedding date has been set and Hudson kept quiet on the proposal details, adding only that is was “very sweet, very romantic.”
The couple will have their first child together this summer. Hudson has a son Ryder, 7, with ex-husband rocker Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes.

Actor Iran Ziering of the original ‘Beverly Hills 90210′ and his wife Erin welcomed a baby girl into their lives. Mia Loren Ziering was born yesterday in Los Angeles.
The former teen heartthrob shared his excitement on Facebook writing, “well, it’s official, I’m a dad! As I it holding Mia, Erin sleeps the most beautiful sleep. My thoughts race with visions of a brighter future, only made possible by what happens today…or last night! God bless us all.”
Mia is a healthy baby girl and weighs 7 lbs., 6oz. and is the first child for the couple who tied the knot in May 2010.
Justin Guarini and wife welcome a baby.
‘American Idol’ season 1 runner-up, Justin Guarini and his wife Reina Capodici welcomed a baby on Tuesday. According to sources William Neko Bell Guarini entered the world at 6:26 a.m. weighing in at 7 lbs., 2 oz.
“Quite a polite fellow for waiting until late Monday, early Tuesday to make his entrance,” Guarini said. “With a full head of curly brown hair, wide open and alert eyes he came charging into the world.”
Guarini went on to say, “Reina is doing wonderfully and should be given a medal for going 10 months and 1 week with child. She performed beautifully and only had to push for 15-20 minutes before the babe arrived.”
Capodici has a daughter, Lola, 6, from a previous relationship. This is the couple’s first child together.
The couple married in September 2009.
