50 Cent: Sues Taco Bell

50 Cent has sued fast-food chain Taco Bell because he claims they used his name without permission in ads that ask him to change his name to 79, 89, or 99 cent for a day.

The print ad is part of the restaurant’s “Why Pay More?” campaign and the rapper’s court papers say that the company sent a bogus letter to the media requesting the name change without the permission of 50 Cent himself.

“We made a good faith, charitable offer to 50 Cent to change his name to either 79, 89 or 99 Cent for one day by rapping his order at a Taco Bell, and we would have been very pleased to make the $10,000 donation to the charity of his choice,” said Taco Bell Corp. spokesperson Rob Poetsch in a statement.

Supposedly the rapper knew nothing about the ad campaign until he heard about it in the news and he’s now seeking $4 million in damages.

Oh come on! In what way were you really damaged? Associating yourself with tacos could really widen your fan base anyways.
