Angelina Jolie: Finally Gives Birth To Twins
After multiple false alarms, the wait is finally over. Angelina Jolie gave birth to her twins on Saturday via C-section in Nice, France.
The actress has been relaxing in the hospital since late June and received daily visits from partner Brad Pitt and her other kids Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh.
The girl and boy, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, weighed almost exactly the same amount (5 lbs. and 5.02 lbs) and were both named in honor of family members. Vivienne’s middle name Marcheline is after Jolie’s recently deceased mother and Knox’s name is a possible nod to Pitt’s maternal grandfather Hal Knox Hillhouse.
“The parents and the babies are in excellent health. Everything is fine,” Jolie’s doctor, Michel Sussmann, said.
The twins are also responsible for pulling in the big bucks. The price hit $11 million and the exclusive first picture rights went to an unnamed US magazine. The couple plan on donating the money to charity.
I can’t even imagine hearing that my first baby pic earned my parents $11 million dollars. I would be pissed that I didn’t get a cut.
The Brangelina bunch are now up to six children and at this rate will hit 10 within five years. Rumors have been swirling about a possible adoption from China but I hope they’ll wait until the twins have at least adjusted a bit before bringing home someone else new.
