James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ has been eyed for up to Nine categorgies when the Academy Awards rolls around. The categories being talked about right now include:

1. Best picture
2. Director
3. Visual effects
4. Editing
5. Art Direction
6. Sound
7. Sound editing
8. Score
9. Song

The major contender for the categories is going to be the new Star Trek by JJ Abrams.
