“Be a Voice Against Violence” PSA Video
A new public service announcement features celebrities like Ashanti, Janet Jackson, Taylor Swift, Andre 3000, and T.R. Knight who join together and speak out against discrimination and hate crimes. The PSA comes after the killing of a fifteen year old, Lawrence King, who was shot in the head by a male classmate after King asked if the classmate would be his Valentine. King, an eighth grader at E.O. Green Junior High School, had revealed he was gay this year and began dressing in a more “feminine” manner by wearing makeup and high heels with his school uniform. I think it’s great when celebs use their star power to send a positive message about such important issues.
