Benedict Cumberbatch and long time girlfriend call it quits.

According to sources, actor Benedict Cumberbatch and girlfriend of more than ten years, actress Olivia Poulet, have decided to split up. The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ star met Poulet while both attending Manchester University.

A source close to the duo said, “they were together such a long time, but it just wasn’t working anymore.”

According to the actor’s publicist they parted on good terms.

A couple of months ago Cumberbatch had said he was looking forward to starting a family with Poulet and is said to be trying to rekindle the romance.

Cumberbatch is currently working in London at a theater. He will next be seen on he second season of ‘Sherlock’ and has an upcoming movie, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,’ which is scheduled to be released later this year.
