Bernie Mac: Hospitalized With Pneumonia
Comedian Bernie Mac was admitted to a Chicago hospital with a diagnosis of pneumonia his publicist said on Friday.
“Mr. Mac is responding well to treatment and will be released soon,” his rep says in a statement. “He asked that his privacy and that of his family is respected while he gets well.”
His publicist also says that his previous diagnosis of sarcoidosis, which is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in organs such as the lungs or lymph nodes, is not related to the current situation.
Mac announced in 2005 that he was in remission from sarcoidosis, a condition he had been dealing with for over two decades.
