Bernie Mac continues to recover from pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital despite rumors of the funny guy’s death.

“Bernie Mac is in stable condition in a Chicago-area hospital,” says a spokesperson for the comedian.

“He is responding well to treatment and hopes to be released in the next few weeks. His family thanks everyone for the well wishes and concern.”
