Brad Pitt: Donates $100,000 To Fight For Gay Marriage
Brad Pitt showed his opposition to Proposition 8 - a California issue that would ban same-sex marriage- by donating $100,000 to the cause.
“Because no one has the right to deny another their life even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8,” Pitt, who gave to the group Californians Against Eliminating Basic Rights, said in a statement.
Pitt and longtime girlfriend Angelina Jolie also gave $2 million to build a center in Ethiopia for children affected by the HIV/AIDS and establish a program to treat TB in children and adults. The center will be named after their Ethiopian-born daughter Zahara.
