Bristol Palin: Sarah Palin’s 17-Year-Old Daughter Preggers
While the Republican National Convention is being putting on hold until Hurricane Gustav is done harassing the south, newly announced Republican running mate Sarah Palin has found herself in the spotlight.
The official announcement that Palin’s 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is currently 5 months pregnant, is going to keep it and plans to marry the father came out today and John McCain knew this fact when he picked his VP.
Rumors first went around that Palin’s 5th son, Trig, who was born in May and has Down syndrome was actually Bristol’s and Mama Palin was attempting to make it look like the baby was hers.
The announcement included this statement: “We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us.
Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned.”
It went on to add, “As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.
Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media, respect our daughter and Levi’s privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates.”
Obama gave his thoughts by saying, “This shouldn’t be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as a governor or potential performance as a vice president.
So will this announcement hurt her popularity at all?
This is a plus. As Mark Steyn points out in his recent best seller, America Alone, if our western civilization is demographically to survive in the increasingly “hostile to the west” islamic world — and not end up like the sinking European populations — these are the precise people (the Bristol Palins’) we should thank for increasing their progeny.
