Britney Spears Single “Gimme More” A Big Hit

The new Britney Spears single “Gimme More” is a huge hit:

This week, “Gimme More” — released to radio stations in August — topped Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart at No. 1 with 179,000 downloads, and jumped from No. 68 to No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

I said it yesterday, America loves an underdog, and Britney could easily turn everything around in the next month if she can just stay out of her own way. I am starting to think her album is a guaranteed hit just because the news is saturated with her presence 24/7. Look for the comeback interview with Barbara Walters next year once her album sells a few million copies.
