Chrissy Crocker to Get Reality Show (aka: More Reasons to Hate TV)
Add one more to the list of internet sensations to be given their own television show. It doesn’t even matter that I have been preparing myself for this news; it’s still the most ridiculous thing this industry has done since Fox gave David Lehre a network deal. (He’s the mastermind behind “myspace: the movie, btw, who inevitably wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars by producing absolute garbage.) A production company (that may or may not be run by a gaggle of high school girls) is in talks with the Britney fan to star in his own reality show. A rep from the company said,
“It’s going to pretty much be the ‘Chris Crocker experience. We consider him a rebel character that people will find interesting. He’s going to be a TV star.”
And here is the point where I throw my TV out the window. It’s a really nice TV too and I am going to be sad when I see it break into hundreds of pieces on the sidewalk, but if by owning it I am in any way facilitating this kind of behavior, I am willing to take one for the team.
