Christopher Lloyd’s House: Victim Of California Wildfire

November 17, 2008

Actor Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future and The Addams Family) was one of the 100 homeowners who lost their houses to wildfires in Montecito, California and he says returning to the charred-out remains gives him a “different awareness.”

Here’s his house before:

And what remains:

Lloyd, 70, was away filming when his 8-acre, $11 million house burned down and says that he won’t be rebuilding.

“You watch TV, you see these kinds of incidents happening here and there, but you look with a kind of detachment because it’s happening … elsewhere,” he said, walking through the rubble.

“But suddenly to be in the midst of it, it’s a very different awareness.”

Rob Lowe and Oprah Winfrey both have homes in the area but they have so far been unscathed.
