Corinne Bailey Rae: Husband Found Dead

Corinne Bailey Rae, singer of that catchy song “So Put Your Record On,” is mourning today as her husband since 2001 was found dead of an apparent drug overdose. Jason Rae, a saxophonist, was discovered by police in an apartment in the Hyde Park area of Leeds, England on Sunday. A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident for supplying controlled drugs that could have contributed to the death but he was later released pending further inquiries. The police are said to have retrieved drug paraphernalia from the apartment as well as several methadone- a heroin substitute- bottles. The results from the toxicology report done are said to take two months and will give final answers in this case. Corinne’s record label, EMI, released this statement Sunday,“EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time. We ask that the media respects Corinne’s privacy and that of her entire family.”
