Daniel Radcliffe: Nude on Broadway

Remember back in 2001, when a then adorable 12-year-old Daniel Radcliffe played Harry Potter in the big screen adaptation of the popular book series? Then a few years later, he was nude in a play in London.
Well now the 18-year-old is set to reprise that role in a Broadway version of the play “Equus.” (I tried to figure out what this play was about and found out this. It’s the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological religious/sexual fascination with horses. Umm….I can’t think of a single reason to see a play like this but whatever.)
The Broadway version will open September 5 in New York City, with Radcliffe showing off his full frontal nudity for a run of twenty-two weeks.

The playwright got the idea while driving along a country road with a friend…when they passed a stable, the friend related a bit of a story he’d read in the newspaper. All he could remember was the crime: a young boy who’d taken the eyes out of a stable full of horses. The friend couldn’t remember any more details, but the playwright was intrigued and set out to write a play about why a boy would do such a thing.
It’s really quite interesting, especially if psychology interests you. The nudity isn’t really a big part of the show.
