Eartha Kitt: Dies At Age 81

Eartha Kitt, who made a name for herself with her role as Catwoman in the 1960s TV series Batman, has died at age 81.

Kitt passed away in New York, with her daughter Kitt Shapiro by her side, where she was being treated for colon cancer .

Kitt worked in television, film, theater and music during her career which began with her 1948 film debut in Casbah and her acceptance into the Katherine Dunham Dance Troupe.
