Ed McMahon Dies at 86

Television icon Ed McMahon passed away in Los Angeles on June 23rd at the age of 86. McMahon, who is most famous for his time on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and ‘Star Search’. Several stars credit Ed with their start, including Britney Spears, who shared kind words about Ed via her Twitter.

“I am deeply saddened by today’s news about Ed McMahon,” Britney tweeted Tuesday. “He is responsible for giving so many artists their first shot including myself. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.”
