Farewell to Tammy Faye
Just one day after her interview on Larry King Live, televangalist Tammy Faye Messner died peacefully in her home Friday morning. Messner, 65, was a well-known face of the Christian Coalition, first co-hosting The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network and then moving on to found the Christian PTL Network with then husband Jim Bakker. After money and sex scandals ravaged her marriage of 30 years, Messner divorced Jim Bakker. This is the lady with the eye-lashes. That lady. You know, the one with the caked on mascara that was crying every time you turned on the 700 Club as a kid thinking it was some cool show about gamblers, thieves or superheroes. (Or maybe that was just me). She always sort of scared me, but she did teach me a lot about the application of eye-makeup. And she knew it too. CNN reports:
Asked by King what she would most like to be remembered for, Messner replied, “well, my eyelashes.” Messner wore heavy makeup — her lip liner, eyeliner and eyebrows were tattooed on.
So there. If you were sitting there thinking I was being mean, then screw you, cause Tammy knows what’s going on. Uh huh. Praise the Lord!
Well I remember as a child that she would sing this song “The world didn’t give it to me and the world can’t take it away!” I know that she has repented for her pass and I hope to see her one day on the other side…RIP in peace Tammy. In Jesus Name.
