George Clooney: Too Busy For “ER” Comeback

George Clooney’s role as “Dr. Doug Ross” on the TV medical drama show ER catapulted him to heartthrob status and assured him many fans when he left to do movies but Clooney isn’t coming back to reminisce.
Clooney appeared in the pilot episode of the show in 1994 and was then written off in 1999 because he wanted to leave to do movies and felt there wasn’t a strong story for his character anymore.
The popular show is taping its 15th and final season and was hoping for a guest appearance from Clooney but it doesn’t look like that’s happening.
George’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, had this to say about Dr. Doug Ross’ possible return: “He is on record as saying he is not coming back. It is something he has already done. He is busy making movies.”
Geez, that was harsh. You have at least gone with the scheduling conflict line Stan.
On the plus side, Ross’ buddy Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards) has agreed to appear in the final season via flashbacks.
