Jennifer Hudson: Mother and Brother Fatally Shot

Dreamgirls actress Jennifer Hudson should be celebrating the success of her recently released debut album but sadly, today she is mourning the shooting death of her brother and mother.
The bodies of Darnell Donerson, Hudson’s 57-year-old mother, and her 29-year-old brother Jason Hudson were found inside Donerson’s home in Chicago, Illinois this afternoon and Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew Julian King was also reported missing.

“We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson,” said rep Lisa Kasteler in a statement.

“No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

Police are currently searching for a man, identified as William Balfour, 27, who may be driving either a white Chevrolet Suburban (Illinois X584859) or a teal Chrysler Concorde four-door with the left front headlight hanging down (temporary Illinois 332K823).

It appears that the incident may be the result of a domestic disturbance and there was no sign of forced entry at the home where the bodies were found.

Hudson’s whereabouts are unknown at this time but she was scheduled to appear Monday in Los Angeles to collect an ensemble cast honor at the Hollywood Awards for “The Secret Life of Bees” with co-stars including Alicia Keys, Queen Latifah and Dakota Fanning.
