Jim McKay: ABC Sportscaster Dead

Jim McKay, best known for hosting the “Wide World of Sports” for more than 30 years, has died at age 86. McKay hosted 12 Olympic games, including coverage of the tragedy during the 1972 Olympics and also became the first sportscaster to win an Emmy for broadcast excellence in 1968.
He is a member of the US Olympic Hall of Fame and the American Sportscasters Hall of Fame and his son is the president of CBS Sports.
He died of natural causes in his home in Maryland.
