Jimmy Page and Leona Lewis: Olympic Closing Ceremony “Whole Lotta Love”
August 25, 2008
Legendary guitarist Jimmy Page and singer Leona Lewis joined forces to sing “Whole Lotta Love” during the closing ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
David Beckham was also featured as part of the Handover Performance since he’s from London, where the 2012 Games will be held and probably because he’s hot.

That was just a horrid performance. After the whole cultural music of China and the “elegance” of it all, to have those two up there banging away on the guitar and screeching in that “lovely” aluminum foil dress, it was embarrassing. And the Mayor of London looked like a total dork up there and seemed he hadn’t a clue as to what he was doing. It was just horrible for China to have had to end with that spectacle. Leona, I love you girl but next time some one tries to tell you the 80’s baked potato look is in, Bend it like Beckham right in their face. And loud guitar does nothing for that beautiful voice of yours!
China, great job. Well done.
