John Costelloe: ‘Sopranos’ Actor’s Shocking Sucide

John Costelloe, the actor who played the character “Johnny Cakes” on the hit show The Sopranos, shocked fans and family today when news spread that he had committed suicide.
Costelloe, 47, was found in his Brooklyn home on December 18th after what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The former New York City firefighter played a short-order cook during the 2006 season and was involved with Vito Spatafore, a mob henchman trying to keep his gay life a secret.
“I was shocked when I heard, and it still hasn’t really sunk in,” Joseph Gannascoli, the actor who played Spatafore, told the New York Post. “I never detected anything troubling about him. I enjoyed all the time I ever spent with him.”
