John McCain: More Viewers Than Obama
John McCain brings the viewers to the yard or the TV actually. 39 million people tuned in to hear his acceptance speech during the Republican National Convention last night according to Nielsen Media Research.
McCain barely snuck past Obama’s viewer numbers which came in at 38.4 million a week ago.
Nielson believes that the NFL Kickoff Game between Super Bowl champions the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins which aired two hours before the speech helped steer 13.6 million viewers to the Republican National Convention.
Um really? That seems pretty crazy that 13.6 million football fans would keep watching to hear a guy speak.
