Josiah Leminig: Facing ‘American Idol’ Legal Action

Do you remember this guy? Josiah Leming was the last to be axed before the top 24 round on season 7 of American Idol and his well-documented struggles - homelessness and a mother with terminal cancer - as well as his musical talents made him a fan favorite but he might now be in hot water.
Leming, 19, is set to release his debut disc in January but the only problem is that he is signed with a record label that isn’t Idol approved.
In the strict contract signed by Idol contestants, they agree to record with Sony/BMG but Leming was signed with Warner Bros. earlier this year and he may be in trouble.
“Josiah was the only Idol contestant ever to get a record deal who didn’t make the top 24, and one of only four contestants to get a deal this year,” a rep for the 19-year-old said. “He has personal reasons for getting his music out, threat or not.”
The Post reported on Thursday that Leming “received an official letter from ‘Idol’ threatening legal action if he puts out his record in January as planned.”
Do you think Idol is asking for too much?
Here’s a song from the album…Angels Undercover.
