Mackenzie Phillips: 70’s Star Arrested for Cocaine, Heroin

Mackenzie Phillips, 48, was going through security checks at Los Angeles International Airport around 10am this morning when cocaine and heroin were found in her possession.
“A balloon and a plastic bag containing a small amount of heroin and cocaine were recovered.” according to Sgt. Jim Holcomb, a spokesman for Los Angeles Airport Police.
“I was told initially she was a little uncooperative, but then she was fine.
Her bail was set at $10,000.
Phillips, best known for her role in the hit 70’s show One Day At A Time playing Valerie Bertinelli’s sister, has a long history of drug use and was fired from the show because of it.
She went through rehab and went back to the show only to quit two years later when the drug problems persisted.
Philips is the daughter of The Mamas & The Papas singer John Philips, whom she blames for her drug problems, and socialite Suzy Adams.
She cracked her way into showbiz at age 13 and was immediately introduced to the temptations of the industry.
“I took a hell of a lot of drugs,” Phillips told London’s The Mail on Sunday in 2001. “I reckon I got through a million dollars on drugs, drink and living the high life.”
