M.I.A.: ‘Paper Planes’ Singer Preggers
The British singer songwriter, M.I.A., recently found success with the song “Paper Planes” but at Saturday night’s Diesel xXx Rock + Roll Circus in Brooklyn, all eyes were on her belly bump.
Unless a faux pregnancy bump is a new trend, it was very clear on Saturday that M.I.A., 31, has a bun in the oven and she confirmed it by telling the Pitchfork Media web site, “I’m creating a baby.”
Over the summer, rumors flew that the singer had canceled her tour due to her pregnancy and she chatted about her life changing quickly.
“When I found out I was pregnant and ‘Paper Planes’ was in the iTunes top 10,” the singer said, “it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window. And that’s the lesson … you can’t make plans, and you can’t say sh–.”
This will be the first child for her and fiancé, the Exit lead singer Ben Brewer, and no due date or gender has been revealed but she did have a message for her young fans: “I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids.”
Well I, personally, am relieved she got engaged first.
