Miley Ray Cyrus: It’s Officially Her Name

Destiny Hope Cyrus has officially changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus. Her “famous” dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, nicknamed her “Smiley Miley” when she was a baby since she was always so happy and the name stuck. Papers were filed Friday with the L.A. Superior Court by her dad and mom, Leticia, allowing the “Hannah Montana” star to go by the name that her fans know her by best. The dad and daughter duo will be hosting the Country Music Television ceremony together April 14th at Nashville’s Belmont University. I’m sure glad my parents didn’t allow me to change my name when I was 15. I would be known as “Penny” or “Dee” or some other name I thought was a good idea at the time.
