Montel Williams On Fox News Wants To Talk About Troops, Not Heath Ledger

January 27, 2008

Nice to see Montel Williams getting his very good point across in a respectful way, interestingly he apparently didn’t come back (wasn’t allowed to come back?) after the commercial to talk about his book.

I commend Montel Williams for taking a stand. I’m so sickened by all this coverage over Heath Ledger’s death, he’s the new Anna Nicole Smith. It is true that there is not enough coverage on the war and the continuous casualties of it. Fox News should be ashamed of themselves for not letting Montel back on the show. Fox News focuses on the so-called “big” news stories to distract from the disasterous Iraq war.

montel shut the hell up. p.s he’s just jealous cus he knows there wouldn’t be as much coverage if he died. R.I.P Heath

marsank, you obviously have completely missed the point of what Montel was saying. He’s not saying he doesn’t care about Heath Ledger’s death, and didn’t disrespect him at ALL. If anything, he stood up for him. Knowing the way Heath Ledger carried himself, he would NOT have wanted his death to be covered this way.

And I also think that Montel was DEAD ON in describing the trouble with the media today. Maybe if the news talked more about the war, the war that we’re getting virtually NO information about anymore, people would care a little more and become more involved in pressuring the government to find a real, workable plan.

I’ve always admired Montel Williams. He’s the ONLY one of those daytime talk show hosts who actually TALKS ABOUT THINGS THAT MATTER. And he is a very genuine person. I thought this video was great.

      Way to go Montel !!!
You know Montel did make a good point,
We are at war, and our people are dying over in Iraq, We should give them respect also,
To go on and on about Heath’s Death, I dont think he would want all the hoopla either.
Montel only was trying to make a very good point .
I take my hat off to him !

Frankly, I’m impressed. The guy managed to start an interesting discussion about media coverage and misguided priorities - waaay more interesting that the 150th speculative story about Ledger’s death when all the facts weren’t even in. As saddened as we all were by Heath’s passing, Montel makes an intelligent and compelling argument. Never watched his show, but if this in any way affected his recent cancellation, that’s a damn shame.
