Naomi Campbell Ordered to Testify or Face Possible Jail Time

Naomi Campbell has been called to testify in the case against former Liberian President, Charles Taylor, regarding a diamond he gave her back in 1997. Taylor is being charged with supporting rebels in Sierra Leone during their civil war (1991 - 2002), where an estimated 500,000 people lost their lives, noting that some of the worst crimes were committed by child soldiers who were drugged to desensitize them. Taylor is also charged with infiltrating the neighboring country and taking their natural resources, including timber, minerals and diamonds that were dubbed “Blood Diamonds” which are diamonds mined in a war zone and used to finance the insurgency. All of this and Naomi Campbell still resists testifying whether the diamond she received as a gift was rough or not. Seems to be a bit selfish to avoid testifying to something that could help put a criminal away and bring some justice to 500,000 folks.
