New YouTube Star: Fred Figglehorn
Prepare to be annoyed. Lucas Cruikshank has found his way to his fifteen minutes of fame by creating the character Fred Figglehorn who is a six-year-old, squeaky voiced kid with anger management issues.
The high school freshman from Nebraska created the charactertwo years ago as a way to parody video bloggers who create self-important videos about their lives.
“I just wanted to make a video for Halloween, so I created Fred and sped up the voice,” Cruikshank tells People Magazine. He often looks to the youngest of his seven siblings for inspiration. “I have little brothers and sisters and know how funny they can be.”
As annoyed as you may be by the character, Fred draws a huge crowd to his channel and recently earned the distinction of being YouTube’s Most Subscribed Channel of all time, with more than 650,000 viewers signed up.
Oh the joys of the internet, a webcam and an active imagination.
Fred is so awesome! I love him alot. My parents think that Fred has issues and stuff like that but I don’t think he does. I LOVE YOU FRED!!!!!!
