No Doubt: Planning Tour After 4-Year Hiatus

After working for seventeen years together and releasing six CDs, the foursome that makes up the band No Doubt decided to take a break. But now it looks like they are planning to hit the road for a tour after their four-year hiatus.
“I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again,” singer Gwen Stefani wrote in a band chat on No Doubt’s Web site Friday night.
“We need to play. It’s been too long,” wrote bassist Tony Kanal. “I feel like it’s time for some rock and roll.”
No cities or dates have been announced but sources say that the tour will likely begin in the summer of 2009.
The group is also reportedly heading back to the studio to record for the first time since their 2001 album, Rock Steady.
While on break, lead singer Gwen Stefani had two babies, Kingston and Zuma, and released two solo albums.
Guitarist Tom Dumont, 40, also focused on a side project, Invincible Overlord, got married and welcomed sons Ace and Rio.
Kanal, 38, produced music for other artists including Pink and Stefani. And drummer Adrian Young, 39, toured and recorded with other bands.
