O.J. Simpson: Convicted, Could Face Life In Prison
The latest trial for O.J. Simpson didn’t quite get as much attention as the 1995 double murder trial, where he was famously acquitted in what some declared the “trial of the century” but he finds himself heading to the prison this time.
After more than 13 continuous hours of deliberation, the jurors found the former hall-of-famer guilty on all charges stemming from the 2007 Las Vegas hotel break-in, where he and five other men “took back” Simpson’s stolen sports memorabilia at gunpoint.
Simpson and his accomplice Clarence “CJ” Stewart were found guilty of first degree kidnapping, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, coercion with a deadly weapon, burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime, kidnapping and robbery among others and both men could be looking at life in prison.
Both men were led away to custody after the trial, were denied bail and will be sentenced on December 5th.
The charge came 13 years to the day after he was found not guilty on charges of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
On Saturday, Ron’s father, Fred Goldman said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to see that the potential is that he could spend the rest of his life in jail, where the scumbag belongs.
Right now, there is not much more to say other than we’re going to wait to find out what else happens.”
