O.J. Simpson: Didn’t Get Off So Easily This Time
After the famous 1994 “trial of the century,” in which O.J. Simpson was acquitted for the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, it looks like Simpson won’t get off easy this time with a sentence of 15 years in prison.
A jury in Las Vegas found the 61-year-old guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping stemming from a 2007 hotel incident involving sports memorabilia he claimed belonged to him.
Following his sentencing, Simpson apologized to the court and denied knowing that anything he did was illegal.
One guy who’s happy is Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman who said outside the courtroom, “There’s never closure, Ron is always gone, but what we have is satisfaction that this monster is behind bars where he belongs.”
My image of O.J. is still that bumbling idiot from the Naked Gun movies. Oh how things have changed.
