Oscar Winning Documentary Team Expose Sushi Restaurant for Serving Whale meat

Recent Oscar winners for best documentary film, The Cove, move on to a new operation that involved undercover work at a popular Sushi restaurant that was serving endangered Sei whale meat.

The Hump is a posh restaurant that caters to Hollywood elite and is know for serving exotic forms of sushi. The sting took place around the same time as the Oscars where the documentary team along with undercover agents and environmental advocates who would order and then pocket the meat for testing.

Gary Lincenberg, lawyer for the restaurant, said the restaurant accepted responsibility and would agree to pay the fine’s associated with the crime, which is up to $200,000.
