R. Kelly: Verdict In

R. Kelly was arrested back in 2002 for child pornography when an incriminating video was sent to the Chicago-Sun Times.

He then faced 14 charges that could have sent him to jail for 15 years but today his verdict came back not guilty on all 14 charges. The jury was in deliberation for less than a day and Kelly broke down and cried when the verdict was read.

The trial had a number of delays along the way including Kelly having a burst appendix, the judge falling off a ladder and breaking his shoulder and a lead prosecutor giving birth.

Kelly didn’t let the charges against him stop him from making music and even earned $8.3 million for his 2006 concert tour.

The video in question showed Kelly engaging in sexual acts with a young girl said to be 13 years of age.
