‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ being sued by cop.
‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ cast are being accused of battering a Chicago area police officer during a brawl earlier this year while on vacation in the Dominican Republic.
Adolfo Arreola says he suffered cuts, bruises, a broken arm and blurred vision after members of the show “savagely beat, punched, scratched and kicked” and broke glass over his head. The altercation began with Teresa Giudice at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino bar in Puenta Cana on February 23.
Arreola’s cousin, Jason A. Gomez says he suffered a broken leg while trying to assist Arreola.
Lawsuits were filed in New York and Miami. Arreola reportedly confronted Giudice for spraying champagne on his mother-in-law, Yolanda Martinez, 53. Giudice’s husband, Joe, along with Caroline Manzo’s sons, Albert and Christopher then proceeded to pummel him.
Bravo is named in the lawsuits as well and Gomez claims the reality stars became “intoxicated, belligerent and rowdy” and Teresa began spraying champagne, which also got in Martinez’ eyes.
“They were laughing at me like it was funny,” she said in the complaint. “They were right in my face. I felt humiliated.”
The Arreola family was in the Dominican to attend a vow renewal ceremony which was cancelled due to the incident.
The court has asked Bravo to present the film footage.
The following day, authorities pulled the men in to discuss the happenings. They handed over their passports and given access to attorneys. Arreola and Martinez say they were offered $25,000 each to keep silent about the incident, which they accepted on the advice of their attorneys so that they could get their passports back.
Arreola had surgery on his right arm and is going through physical therapy. He cannot return to his job until he has been cleared. Gomez is still on crutches and has two pins in his knee.
