Richard Simmons: Headed to Congress?
Is Richard Simmons going to be sweatin’ to the oldies in Washington D.C. as a Congressman? Well he was on Capitol Hill today to talk about childhood obesity and push for increased school exercise programs in front of the House Education and Labor Committee but maybe Congress is where he’ll be heading next.
Simmons described his approach to his talk today by saying, “I want to have the respect of a congressman, I want to talk like a congressman, and maybe, someday, I’ll be a congressman.”
He then added, “After this congressional hearing, I will go home, I will talk with my Dalmatian dogs, I will pray to God and then I’ll see what else I can do to help.”
I can see it now….Next to speak is Congressman Richard Simmons. “Alright Congress…let’s sweat! Come on do the pony! Do the pony! Yeah! Feel the burn!”
As long as he can wear his normal exercise outfit to perform his congressional duties, he’s got my vote.
