Road Cleared for ‘The Hobbit’

September 9, 2009

Clearing the way to move forward with its two planned films of “The Hobbit,” Warner Bros. resolved a nasty legal battle with the heirs of J.R.R. Tolkien over profit from the “Lord of the Rings” films.

Though they didn’t disclose the terms of the settlement. The children alledge that they were owed over 150 million dollars from the LOTR films and would not allow ‘Hobbit’ films to be made without settling the first matter.

WB has plans to make 2 ‘Hobbit’ films, starting next year.
