Russell Simmons has agreed to pay child support for daughters, Ming, 9, and Aoki, 6, of $20,000 each per month until the girls turn 19, and provide a new car every 3 years, worth at least $60k, for the children’s use, until they turn 16.
I don’t know what the hell he did or if he had a horrid divorce lawyer, but that settlement seems rather excessive.

Don’t feel sorry for him. A child has the right to the full resources of each parent. the state is pretty cut and dried about it. If the standard calculations state that at his income and worth he should pay 20K per child then that should be right. Usually after divorce dads go on to become richer than the moms, leaving the children far less well off and therefore less able to have the life and opportunities they deserve. Statistics show that dads get richer and spend their bucks on a new women and her/their new kids, leaving the others sometimes destitute. The law tries to avoid this becoming a problem for kids. He’ll keep getting richer. Don’t feel sorry for him.
