Scarlett Johansson: Engaged and Enraging Fiance’s Ex Alanis Morisette
This past Monday, Alanis Morissette had a jagged little pill to swallow when it was announced that her ex, Ryan Reynolds, was now engaged to Scarlett Johansson.
Alanis and Ryan became engaged in June of 2004 and broke things off in June of 2006. Not much has been heard from Alanis over the past two years and she has blamed the hiatus on the breakdown of a relationship which left her at “rock bottom.”
She won’t name names but the timing seems right for Ryan to be the reason behind her heartache. She is now back with her first new album since 2004 and the pain has given lots of material for the CD.
She tells People.com, ” I took a break over the past two and half years. I was tending to my personal life. (I hit) rock bottom.
“Everything from pounding pillows to sharing with intimate friends (helped me through it). The (new) record chronicles the rock bottom finally being hit.”
As for Scarlett, the 23-year-old is very excited about the engagement and has said that she was looking forward to settling down.
If Alanis got “You Oughta Know” out of her breakup with Dave Coulier, I’m sure she can follow it up with another good breakup song penned in Ryan’s honor/memory. She doesn’t seem like a chick I would want to piss off, that’s for sure!
