Scarlett Johansson On February Harper’s Bazaar Cover
Scarlett Johansson looks red hot on the February cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and inside she opens up about Ryan Reynold’s proposal, her secret wedding and how soon kids will be in the picture.
Johansson, 24, surprised a lot people when she wed boyfriend Ryan Reynolds, 32, in an intimate ceremony in September but she tells the mag that the proposal wasn’t that big of a surprise to her.
“I wasn’t surprised that it was happening, but anyone being presented with a beautiful diamond ring, as a girl, you just squeal with delight.”
“You say you can’t believe it, but of course you really can. I think all proposals are romantic. It was very down-to-earth and genuine. There was no crazy skywriting or anything like that, just nice words, and it was very sweet…”
With the ring on her finger, Johansson says that the two didn’t think the next step would be to plan a blowout of a wedding.
“It was a private [wedding], which is what I really wanted. I’ve never been the girl who thought of the big dress, the big ceremony. I’m more low-key than that. Most people want photographers at their wedding and for us it was how do we leave them out?”
Johansson also confesses that being married doesn’t feel that different.
“I feel like everything is really normal, it’s calm and natural, like the way it should be…..I have no perspective on it because it’s been such a short time.”
“I would never try to profess some knowledge that I discovered. I’m happy and it feels very regular, which is good.”
But just because she walked down the aisle, don’t assume that children will shortly follow.
“I’m not pregnant nor will I be any time soon,” she reveals.
Johansson’s next film He’s Just Not That Into You opens in February.
