Ok, so it’s pretty ignorant to never vote, but that’s not even the ridiculous part of Sherri Shepherd’s statements on voting today on The View.
No the ridiculous part was Shepherd saying she had never voted (since 1985 mind you) because she “never knew the dates or anything.”
Shepherd shouldn’t be able to get a job in a fast food restaurant, how in the hell is she on a widely watched TV show? Elizabeth Hasselbeck looks like a Rhodes Scholar next to this woman.

To be honest, as ignorant as this woman is I would rather she just never vote. An uninformed choice is worse than uninformed apathy.
Amen, Salernilko. Unfortunately, Sherry’s laziness isn’t shared by the hundreds of thousands of equally ignorant people who line up at the voting booths.
I can’t believe this is true but with some of the things she says it probably is. How can they allow her to sit up there and discuss politics and the candidates when she doesn’t care enough about her country to voice her opinion by going to the polls. If you don’t vote you need to keep your mouth shut about the government.

Fallacy. If there aren’t any candidates who you support, what’s the point of voting? Supporting someone who won’t do anything you want? Participating in a system that doesn’t represent you? It’s pointless to vote unless there are candidates worth voting for.

The funnier thing is that Sherri Shepherd repeatedly said, “If I don’t vote then I can’t complain for a whole year.” After the second or third time that she said this, one of the other panelists corrected her to “four years”. I think even her co-panelists are sometimes taken aback by her statements. She does give good TV, though. (Yes, I often watch The View, mainly because Whoopi & Joy can be caustically hilarious together at times.)
Frankly, I’ve never felt voting to be all that essential to the process.
Well, you know - with the dates changing and all. It’s hard to keep up.
And then there’s the potential to fall off the flat Earth on her way to the polling station.
I’m all for representative democracy and all; but somehow (somehow) - I think we may be better off not having her vote of total ignorance and absolute ineptitude can canceling out the vote of someone who may (at the very least) be quasi-informed.
It’s embarrassing how truly dumb this person is, both as a woman and as an American. There must be tens of thousands more interesting people who could replace her on The View. Shame on the producers for allowing her to stay.
