Britney Spears’ ménage a trois-themed song “3″ has modified a line of its lyrics. Sony has sent a press release to Australian radio stations to replace their existing version of her latest single with a new one.

According to The Celebrity Truth, the 27-year-old pop star’s record company sent out requests to radio stations to replace their existing version of “3″ with a new cleaned up version.

The email, sent Wednesday, included a link to the edited song, which stated, “Please replace your existing version with this updated track ASAP.” It did not provide a reason why.

The new “3″ lyrics was changed from “Livin’ in sin is the new thing” to “Livin’ with this is the new thing.”

“3″ was released in September to a positive critical response although laden with controversy due to its theme. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Britney ‘upset’ over Aussie lip-synching spat

US pop icon Britney Spears is “extremely upset” by media reports that disgruntled fans walked out of her first ever Australian concert because she was lip-synching, her promoter Paul Dainty said.

Dainty said the reports that concert-goers stormed out of Friday’s show in Perth because it was lacklustre and not performed live were “the biggest lie I’ve ever heard.”

“I’m so angry,” he told Monday’s The Australian newspaper.

“We can take heat if there’s something wrong and people can review shows badly — that’s something you have to live with — but to say people stormed out of the show was an absolute fabrication.”

Dainty said Spears, on her first major tour in five years after myriad personal problems, had been rattled by reports that some people left after just three songs.

“Britney is aware of all this and she’s extremely upset by it,” Dainty said. “She’s a human being. I’m embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting.”

Virginia, who just got back from a 15-year vacation from a Kangaroo’s pouch, wants everyone to know that Our Lady of Cheetos pulls an Ashlee Simpson at all her concerts.

According to People, Virginia issued this statement: “It is Britney’s ‘prerogative’ to lip-sync, and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front. Personally I would rather see a live set from a local artist, but I am sure Britney’s fans will be treated to a spectacular show.”

Virginia Judge went on to say that the organizers should put disclaimers on all promo materials and tickets.

Britney single debuts at No. 1

Oops, Britney Spears has done it again, with the U.S. pop singer cementing her comeback with a new single “3″ rocketing to No. 1 in its debut week.

Proving her popularity has not waned despite a personal and career meltdown in 2007 and 2008, “3″ entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the top, making her the first artist with a debut No. 1 in more than three years, Billboard said on Wednesday.

The single, from her new album “The Singles Collection” due out on Nov. 10, is the first No. 1 debut since Taylor Hicks’ 2006 hit “Do I Make You Proud” and the first non-”American Idol” song to enter the chart at No. 1 in almost 11 years.

A new message was posted on Britney Spears’ website today, to clarify the message posted earlier, that she will be attending the TCA, but not performing.

Spears is up for three awards this year and is also expected to receive the Ultimate Choice Award. She will be joining host/ nominees, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and the cast of the hit film “Twilight.”

Britney Spears is granted restraining order against Sam Lufti

Pop star Britney Spears can rest a little easier at night. Britney, as well as her sons, are protected by a restraining order issued for her ex Sam Lufti. The order, which is in effect until April 28, 2010, says that Lufti cannot go withing 100 yards of Britney’s home or workplace.

Congrats Brit! It’s just one more step to Britney getting her life back together.

Britney Spears settles ‘Dolls’ Cat fight

After the Pussycat Dolls got in a fight Friday night in Phoenix, Britney Spears decided to put the bickering to an end. “Remember, business comes first. … You can hate each other off-stage, but make it work on stage,” a very reliable Spears source quoted Britney as saying.

The tension with in the group is stemmed from jealousy. Lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, who has been wanting to go solo, is taking hits from the other girls who are unhappy about the fact that the recent singles have been released as “The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger”.
