Denis Hopper Divorce Getting Ugly

Actor Dennis Hopper, dying from cancer at 73 is in the midst of divorcing his fifth wife. Back in Jan he said it was so he could spend more time with his daughter and to be around people that really cared about him.
Hopper, through his attorney has described living with his wife a complete hell on earth.
“Victoria has made my father’s life a living hell over at least the last six months,” said a deposition from Henry Hopper, the actor’s 19-year-old son with his fourth wife.
Michael C Hall Treated for Cancer

Actor Michael C. Hall, who plays a serial killer in the TV series “Dexter,” said on Wednesday that he has been battling cancer but the treatment is almost finished and the disease is in remission.
The 38-year-old actor said in a media statement that he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a treatable cancer of the lymphatic system. He did not say when the diagnosis was made.
“I feel fortunate to have been diagnosed with an imminently treatable and curable condition, and I thank my doctors and nurses for their expertise and care,” Hall said.
Teddy Pendergrass Dies in Philadelphia

Soul singer Teddy Pendergrass has died at the age of 59 following “a difficult recovery” from colon cancer surgery, his son has told the AP news agency.
Teddy Pendergrass II said his father had died at a hospital in Philadelphia.
He was paralysed from the waist down in a 1982 car accident. In 2001, he went on his first tour since the accident.
Pendergrass enjoyed early success with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, whose hits included If You Don’t Know Me By Now, before going solo in 1976.
Lisa Niemi speaks of losing Patrick Swayze

The widow of actor Patrick Swayze has spoken about her grief at her first public appearance since his death.
Speaking at the Women’s Conference in Long Beach, California, Lisa Niemi said Swayze’s passing last month left her feeling sadness “on a cellular level”.
“I thought during the 22 months of my husband’s illness that it gave me all this time to get used to the idea of losing him,” she said on Tuesday.
“It wasn’t the same at all. The actual loss is an animal of its own.”
Her husband’s death, she continued, “made all the sadness and grief previous to that look like an intellectual concept”

Patrick Swayze dies at 57

Swayze died from pancreatic cancer on Monday in Los Angeles, his publicist said. He was 57.
“I’d say five years is pretty wishful thinking,” Swayze told ABC’s Barbara Walters in early 2009. “Two years seems likely if you’re going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it.”
“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” Annett Wolf said in a statement Monday evening. She declined to give details.
Ron Silver Dies

Actor/Activist Ron Silver died Sunday at the age of 62.
Ron Silver won a Tony Award as a Hollywood producer in David Mamet’s “Speed-the-Plow”. Silver was also known for his recurring role as a strategist for President Jed Bartlet on “The West Wing”.
“Ron Silver died peacefully in his sleep with his family around him early Sunday morning” in New York City, said Robin Bronk, executive director of the Creative Coalition, which Silver helped found. “He had been fighting esophageal cancer for two years.”
